Calia Consulting started in Silicon Valley in 2003
Calia  specializes in achieving SaaS Operational Excellence.
The two areas of domain expertise are:

Dani Shomron

Dani has been active in the software industry since 1980, in various software development, management
and executive positions across various verticals and applications, locally and internationally.

Since 2001, Dani has been involved in the on-demand arena, first in the ASP space (Digital Fuel) and then
as Operations Manger of Performance Center of Excellence at Mercury Interactive Managed Services (now
HP SaaS) for four years.

Since 2006 he has worked as a SaaS consultant, advising software vendors on the transition from the
enterprise, on premise model to the subscription based, SaaS model, and on SaaS technology and service
operations to startups.

In his most recent role as VP Service Operations at Transera Communications, Dani has consolidated data
centers, teams and tools and on-boarded a managed service for the voice, server and network infrastructure
to reduce monthly operating costs by $300K. New operation management productivity tools were introduced
and ITIL practices implemented.

In his previous position, Mr. Shomron was VP Operations and Services at Contactual, a SaaS company,
where he implemented his unique methodology of ITSM for SaaS improving service availability from 99.775
to 99.998 in the first year.

Dani is a recognized thought leader on the issue of SaaS, posting his ideas on ‘Dani’s Perspective on
SaaS’ and lecturing to CIOs on SaaS.

Recently, Mr. Shomron co-authored the book ‘
CIO Perspectives’ (Kendal Hunt Publishing, November 2007),
contributing the chapter on SaaS.

Dani is well connected to some of the major players in the SaaS and Managed Services space in Silicon
Valley.
